Climate Simulation Workshop

In this 90-minute interactive workshop participants will have the opportunity to interact with a dynamic simulator developed by Climate Interactive and the MIT Sustainability Initiative. By testing and exploring various pathways to reach net zero emissions you will gain a much better understanding of climate change, and the impacts, assumptions, and tradeoffs involved in transitioning to a low carbon economy. InnSure will be providing an insurance and transition risk overlay to help participants think about insurance innovation in the context of climate risk.

This is a 90-minute live virtual, facilitated workshop where a group has the opportunity to interact with a dynamic simulator developed by Climate Interactive and the MIT Sustainability Initiative. Using the simulator, participants make tradeoffs between various climate solutions in order to reduce global warming to at or below 1.5 degrees by 2050. Through this hands-on experience, participants learn about climate change and climate solutions such as energy efficiency, carbon pricing, fossil fuel taxes, reducing deforestation, and carbon dioxide removal. InnSure team will provide an insurance overlay at the front end and the back end of the workshop talking about how transition risks present opportunities to develop innovative insurance products and services.
